Dominic – CBS Media
On Thursday June 30, 2011, CBS officially released the identities of the 8 new Houseguests who will compete in Big Brother 13.
Eight houseguests is an unusually small number of contestants, but of course, there is a twist this season: according to BuddyTV, host Julie Chen told ET Canada that “dynamic duos from the past will have a significant role this season.” A CBS press release issued on June 30th confirmed what had been speculated already by numerous fan sites: that former contestants would be returning to the game. These past houseguests, re-entering the game as pairs, will be announced during the show’s season premiere on July 7th.
In the meantime, the 8 new houseguests of Big Brother 13, in alphabetical order, are:
Adam Poch, a 39 year-old music inventory manager from New Jersey. This “born leader” says he will worry about the things he can control, and will deal with the things he can’t.
Cassi Colvin, a 26 year-old Texas native, now working as a model in Nashville. This exotic beauty claims that she will play the same way she lives – be as sweet and kind to everyone as possible, all the while keeping in mind it’s a game for a half-million dollars.
Dominic Briones, a 25 year-old college student from San Francisco State University. He says he is a fan of BB11’s Jeff Schroeder, but didn’t like Jessie Godderz because he was too cocky.
Kalia Booker, a 30 year-old Philadelphia native, now working as a writer in Los Angeles. This “dramatic, adventurous” woman claims that the hardest part of Big Brother will be living without the modern technologies, like her Blackberry and iPod, that she is addicted to.
Keith Henderson, a 32 year-old human resource manager from Illinois. This self-described “kiss-ass” claims that nothing about Big Brother will be difficult since he works with people everyday at his job.
Lawon Exum, a 39 year-old legal file clerk, also from Illinois, but now living in the LA area. Lawon’s biggest accomplishment is losing over 50 pounds and keeping the weight off for the last 15 years.
Porsche Briggs, a 23 year-old VIP cocktail waitress from Florida. This self-described “bitch” admires former BB11 houseguest Natalie Martinez, but regrets that Natalie had the opportunity to lie to everyone in the house before she did. She also claims that it will be hard to live without her dog for three months.
Shelly Moore, the oldest new houseguest at 41. This wife, mother, and outdoor industry executive brings her experiences as a caregiver, leader, and team builder to the Big Brother house. Shelly admits that dealing with dirty people and people who snore would be a challenge.
The Returning Dynamic Duos
While the exact identities of the returning houseguests is unknown, the CBS Web site teases the following pairs as eligible to return:
Brendon and Rachel (dubbed “Brenchel” by fans), engaged couple who met and fell in love on Big Brother 12.
Dr. Will and Mike Boogie (“Chilltown”), friends and allies from BB2 and BB7. Mike Boogie was the winner of the All-Star edition of Big Brother.
Jeff and Jordan (“Jordeff”), dating couple who met on Big Brother 11 and later competed together on CBS’s The Amazing Race 16. Jordan was the winner of BB11.
Jessie and Natalie, friends and allies from Big Brother 11. Jessie had previously competed on Big Brother 10.
Dick and Daniele, father and daughter who both competed on Big Brother 8. Although they were estranged prior to BB8, the pair became allies and grew closer on the show, eventually becoming the final two contestants. Dick was crowned the winner of BB8.
Hayden and Enzo, friends and allies in BB12’s “Brigade” alliance. Hayden went on to be the winner of BB12. Enzo was third place.
